Dr Yazhou Wang is a researcher at DTU Electro. His current research focus is the development of innovative gas-filled hollow-core fiber lasers, designed to address key challenges in microscopic imaging and gas sensing. In this presentation, he developed a novel concept that enables the spectral synthesis of multiple narrow, intense optical lines, with each line precisely and independently tunable across the near- to mid-infrared region. This laser technology opens a promising way for multi-gas detection and multispectral microscopic imaging. A proof-of-concept laser beam synthesized of two narrow spectral lines at 3.99 µm and 4.25 µm wavelengths is demonstrated and combined with a photoacoustic modality for real-time detection of sulfur dioxide and carbon dioxide at trace amounts.
